Hold on to your hats! I have a ton of pictures from our trip down to Memphis to meet baby Caroline (and see Rachel & Ryan!). We haven't been to Memphis since we moved to Kansas City from Little Rock two and a half years ago. It was good to get to see them and it was even better to see Caroline. We drove down on Thanksgiving Day with Dad and Kim's family and I came back this last Tuesday. It was tons of fun! I'll let the pictures tell the story:
Grandma made it down in time to be there when she was born!
We all had to get our hands on her when we got there Thursday!
Victoria checking out her new cousin.
Alexandra was pretty interested in Caroline too!
Trevor's becoming quite a natural at this baby thing.
Friday was spent hanging out with the family and watching Nebraska beat Colorado!
Uncle Trevor and Uncle Ryan took Victoria to feed the ducks in the lake behind their house.
Alexandra sat in her Bumbo and watched the game intently!
She prayed really hard that Alex Henery would make the 57 yard field goal to put NE ahead at the end of the game....and he did!!
The rest of the weekend was filled with lots more loving on babies with a few activities scattered about. We went to Kim & Justin's hotel to watch Victoria "The Fish" Gulbrandson swim, watched the Oklahoma game for Uncle Ryan, Victoria gave us all complete physicals with her doctor kit, and Ryan and Victoria built us a nice fire.
Monday we all took on the task of hanging up Caroline's name in her room. Do you know what happens when you put a bunch of perfectionists together in one room to hang something???
Lots of measuring!
But it gets done RIGHT! Even if it is a few hours later... :)
Caroline has a beautiful nursery to enjoy!
Monday was also Mom's & my birthday! It was nice to be together on our birthday. We don't get to do that too often anymore. Someone took our annual picture together, but I haven't gotten a copy. Hint, hint whoever took it!
I also got to see my roommate from college, Mary Ellen! She lives in Memphis and goes to church with Rachel. She was also excited to come over and meet Caroline when she got back from her Thanksgiving trip.
She brought Mom and I (and Caroline) a delicious "Happy Birthday" cookie cake!
We also had Mary Ellen be our "professional photographer" for the night since she takes great pictures! She sent me a few of the ones she got of us girls....I can't wait to see the rest!
In all the hubbub of Mary Ellen taking all of our pictures, we didn't realize until the next morning that Mary Ellen and I didn't get one together! So we set up the timer on the camera in her apartment before she left for work and we left for Kansas City. It didn't turn out too bad!
I couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving trip. I am so very thankful such wonderful family and friends!
Congratulations to any of you that actually made it to the end of this LONG post! :)
